Exploring contemporary representations of immigration in francophone cinema and the world beyond…

An initiative started at the University of Leeds by postgraduate and undergraduate students of French, Cultural and Communication studies, Immigration //Représentation seeks to explore and challenge current perceptions of immigration  in French, British and Global contexts.

In March, 2014 Immigration//Représentation organised Immigration//Représentation Festival 2014, a program of feature-length film screenings, workshops and short-film installations on Leeds University Campus that culminated in a finale event of discussions, activities and performances at Temple.Works.Leeds called I//R [RE]presents…

This site will continue to showcase contributions of articles, creative writing, photo and video that  take the themes of Arrivals, Adaptation and Return as their starting points for an exploration into contrasting experiences and perceptions of immigration in contemporary contexts…and it’s open to everyone!

You can also find out more about our partner organisations, community groups and artists and keep up to date with relevant events taking place in Leeds, the UK and elsewhere.
